Look around yourself, your world. Notice how you surround yourself with those who have the same beliefs as you have chosen? It's comfortable, because you know the rules. We know what's expected and can be comfortable with the outcome. This is evident in life. It can be religious, geographical, clubs and organizations, etc. This is the affect of the mind, for the mind chooses what it has experienced and what knowledge it has gained through teachings, books and conversations with others and their experiences. The mind is very literal, very black and white, 1 + 1 = 2, right? Someone else's experience of making a perfect cake is the outcome we want so we will follow the directions and get exactly the outcome we prefer, a cake. But what if we just let life happen? What if we take away all judgements of experienced outcomes? What will happen then? If we keep thinking the same thoughts, we will keep getting the same outcomes. And it's okay, but do you want to find and create more experiences which the mind has no idea exist? Ones which bring fun and the greatest joy? Ones in which you can use your innate talents and gifts?
The mind cannot imagine what it has not experienced, only the Soul can. The mind is to be a servant to the soul, not a prison, so let the soul speak by keeping the mind busy with new ways to navigate life, ones which it has never experienced before.
What if someone told a deaf young boy he could never write and perform music? What if this young boy, Beethoven had believed this to be true? He didn't follow the "rules", he made his own rules. He didn't follow the mind, he followed his soul. We are all grateful for Beethoven's innate talents and gifts and how he expressed them for all of us to still enjoy. His example has now allowed others to realize the same truths within themselves.
How to start? In the morning, before your feet hit the floor, set the intention for your day, how you want to create and experience your day. Set the intention for love, joy, peace, or all of them and more. Think about what you are grateful for. Feel the emotion of this gratefulness and let it make you smile. Then, you can take a new route to work and experience a different path. It will keep you on your toes as you watch and heede new traffic signals, new turns and new people. This keeps you from becoming complacent in your life and heightens the physical senses along with new thoughts which ail be created out of your morning intention. This is the objective, new thoughts, experiencing the new with fresh boundaries, your intention. Then watch the day unfold. Your intentions will go before you bringing to you the same through synchronicities, people and places.
A happy life is an inside job.
